BLUG was started in 1998 by a small group of computer geeks in Bellingham, Washington who wanted to get off Windows and learn from local Unix gurus. Our focus is on Linux and all Open Source software.
We hold a presentation meeting the first Thursday of the month at Bellingham Technical College in Campus Center room 201 (CC201). On the third Wednesday, we hold an informal organization meeting with the time and location being Bellingham Makerspace (located in the Bellisfair Mall, next to Dicks Sporting Goods). We also put on special events including the regional LinuxFest Northwest in the Spring.

Download and print the Linuxfest poster
04/09/2006 at 12:00 AM
Irvin created a great looking poster for Linuxfest Northwest 2006 that you can download, save, print with Gimp and hang where you think people will see it. Get your copy at linuxfestnorthwest.org/images/totemposter.jpg
Please save your copy and print from Gimp or another graphics program, not your browser. If you want to print multiple copies in Gimp use the “Setup printer” button from Print dialog box. You should see a command field that looks something like this…
lp -s -dprinter -oraw
and add -n x (where x is the number of copies to print) to the command line argument, then click OK and then Print.
Have fun.

Wardriving (also known as LAN Jacking) is searching for Wi-Fi wireless networks by moving vehicle. It involves using a car or truck and a Wi-Fi-equipped computer, such as a laptop or a PDA, to detect the networks.
Many wardrivers use GPS devices to measure the location of the network find and log it on a website. For better range, antennas are built or bought, and vary from omnidirectional to highly directional. Software for wardriving is freely available on the Internet.
