DotOrg Committee meeting this Thurs, Oct 13th

This Thursday, Oct 13th, is the regular monthly meeting of BLUG’s DotOrg Committee.
We’ll meet from 7pm until 9pm in the library of RE Sources which is located above the Re Store on 2309 Meridian Street, in Bellingham (access is from the alley via stairs in in back).
Expect the meeting to follow this format:

This Thursday, Oct 6th, at BTC, in room D5, from 7pm til 9pm, BLUG will be having it’s regular open to the public meeting which includes a presentation, Linux News, and our Linux Q&A discussion.
This months presentation will be from Jonathan on “building your own website with Ruby on Rails”.
This is an open to the public meeting so invite your neighbor and bring a friend.

This Thursday Sept 1st at BTC from 7pm til 9pm is our monthly open to the public BLUG meeting.
Jakob will be presenting on “How to root your Android phone, without bricking it”.
We’ll also have a report from Carl about the KDE Berlin Desktop Summit as well as LFNW’s presence at LinuxCon NA in Vancouver, BC.
And, of course, we’ll have the regular Q&A and Linux News breaks.

BLUG’s “DotOrg Committee” will be meeting this Thursday, from 7pm until 9pm, at RE Sources. The group will meet in the RE Sources library, which is accessible from the alley side stairway above the RE Store on 2309 Meridian Street.
We’ll be discussing, among other things, LFNW’s LinuxCon plans and the BLUG summer potluck at Jakob’s Aug 13th (see Announce Blog at blug.org).
All interested in being actively involved in LFNW and BLUG planning are encouraged to attend.

This Thursday at BTC in Room D5, from 7pm until 9pm, will be our regular meeting of BLUG, which is open to the public.
This month’s presentation will be by Iain Davidson on Virtualization/Emulation. He’ll talk/show-n-tell about Sun’s VirtualBox and W.I.N.E.
We’ll also have a short recap-report from our OSCON LFNW liaisons about how OSCON went this year.
Of course we’ll have our regular Linux Q&A and “Linux in the News” sessions.
And last but not least, we’ll be announcing our “Friends of BLUG family potluck picnic and get-together” which will be at Jakob’s home, 1214 Roland St., on Aug 13th from 3pm until 7pm.

John Sechrest, BLUG member and executive director of the Northwest Innovation Resource Center, would like to announce:
“Startup Weekend in Bellingham” June 24-26 in the Viking Union 565 on the campus of WWU.
In a Nutshell:
This is a 54-hour event where developers, designers, marketers, product managers and startup enthusiasts come together to share ideas, form teams, build products, empower individuals and communities, and launch startups.
Goal = from Idea to Revenue in 54 hours.

BLUG meeting this Thursday, June 2nd, at BTC, in room D5, from 7pm until 9pm.
We are privileged to have Derek and Andrew join forces in presenting Ubuntu Unity.
Andrew will present Unity and demo a laptop installation as well as a Desktop installation.
Derek will demo a Unity netbook installation.
There’ll also be time for our regular “Linux in the News” and Q&A sessions.
Bring a friend! This should be an interesting and fun meeting.
