Our host James Mason will have the front door open 15 minutes
before the start of the meeting.

from 6:30pm til 9pm, BLUG will have its regular
public meeting.

Meeting includes:
“Hands-on Help Time” from 6:30pm til 7pm, BLUG/LFNW & Linux News,
Q&A, and a presentation by Adrian Klaver “Using the conda package/environment
manager.”

“Hands-on Help Time”
Starting at 6:30pm, 1/2 hour prior to the regular 7pm start time,
BLUG offers hands-on help for anyone with a Linux issue.
Bring your computer and let the BLUG folks give you a hand.

“Presentation”
Adrian Klaver will present “Using the conda package/environment
manager.”
An exploration of the conda tool(http://conda.pydata.org/docs/) for
creating Python virtual environments and populating them with software.
Presented as an alternative to the Python virtualenv program, with
associated pros and cons.

Location:
ROOM CC201, on the 2nd floor of BTC’s new Campus Center Building.

Do to the proximity of Labor Day Weekend, our Sept 1st BLUG meeting
has been canceled.

Blug mtg & BBQ picnic this Thursday Aug 4th at Whacom Falls Park

This month’s regular BLUG meeting will be a BBQ and Picnic.
Come out from behind your X sessions and server rooms,
and join us in the sunshine for a picnic at Whatcom Falls Park.
Bring your well-charged laptop for hands-on help at 6:30,
then we’ll do the news and have an open discussion at 7pm.
Pop, burgers, and hot dogs will be provided;
if you have special dietary needs, or just want to cook a steak,
the grill will be available for you own DIY projects as well.
Feel free to bring a friend who’d like to meet our local Linux
& free software community!
